March Maddness Hits the ACC

After this weekend in the ACC, March Madness has clearly hit the ACC.

Saturday, dook was taking on NC State at the RBC Center in Raleigh. dook trailed NC State for the duration of most of the game, State had a convincing lead, so they thought, but dook chipped away at the lead and ultimately won the game with DeMarcus Nelson hitting free throws.

Also Saturday, Carolina traveled to Boston College. Tyrese Rice shot lights out with over 30 points in the first half for the Eagles. Carolina also overcame a huge deficit in the second half to ultimately defeat BC by ten with a final score of 90-80.

And this evening, Clemson traveled to College Park to take on Maryland. The Terps had a convincing double digit lead as well. Clemson came back in the last 11 minutes of the game and outscored the Terps 34-11, winning the game on a clutch 3 pointer and forcing some key turnovers at the end of the game.

Looks like it was not a good weekend to be the home school? dook and Carolina winning really does not affect the ACC too much, keeps them both tied for first in the league, but how does Maryland losing to Clemson affect the middle tier of the league? Well this win for Clemson sets them apart from everyone else, putting them at 9-5, Virginia Tech 8-6 and Maryland 8-7.

Definitely March Madness has begun in the ACC...

It's that time of year

It's that time of year, where us women, maybe some men fight the desire to eat an entire box of girl scout cookies in one blasted sitting. I am going to freeze my thin mints, so that I can enjoy them and get that feeling, oh wait that is york peppermint patty. They changed the name of my Samoa's to something else...but I love those....licking my lips as I am typing this, trying desperately to refrain refrain from attacking the bag that is patiently waiting in my foyer....REFRAIN

Perhaps it's because I feel half dead, being that I have been under the weather. But Still not in a particular mood to post my blog about sports. One of my favorite movies of all time, is Monty Python and the Holy Grail...I am not dead yet....

So go ahead post your favorite quotes!

So I will start off, What do you do with witches....She's a Witch!!!!!

Totally not sports related...I am sick

Okay, I have had it, feel like I am about to cough up my left lung. Went to the doctor's last week, they said sinus infection, put me on a z-pack and patted my back and sent me on my sick, snotty nose little way. Usually, when on a z-pack, I feel some relief in 24 hours. Not so, in any capacity. I was worse Friday then I was Thursday, left a message for the doctor, and they don't return my call till Monday, at which time I had already scheduled an appointment that day for a follow-up.

Preliminary diagnosis was bronchitis, but they sent me for a chest x-ray just in case to rule out walking pneumonia. Gave me a stronger anti-biotic just in case. No results on the chest x-ray, so dook is left to assume it's just a bad case of bronchitis.

I blame the weather constantly changing. It was 65º last week, now it's 35º. My body just can not adjust. And y'all complain about snow. PLEASE we want snow in Raleigh!

Oh well, enough of the non -sports related blah blah blah...back to the regular scheduled program.

I watched the game last night

For that to be a potential one for the books an instant classic, it really looked like a game of indoor street scrap ball to me. Memphis had to call a time out within the first 35 seconds of the game. Good move on Coach Calipari's part, as the team drained three's after that. But over all, a game that is between the #1 and #2 team's in the nation, especially this late in the season, I anticipate and expect better ball movement and better play making. I just did not see it in either team.  I was simply not impressed, and neither team to me looked like a number one caliber team. Go ahead shoot me down, I do not really care, we are approaching the wrap up of the regular season, Memphis was undefeated going into this match-up, Tennessee had only two losses...I expected  a lot more and got a lot less.

I am sure Tennessee will shoot up to the number one slot, but it will be short lived. Expect both Memphis and Kansas to fall this week with their losses.
